Kindergarten Fun

The kindergarten teachers got a great idea from Tracey Lex to dress as vowels bats from the song "Vowel Bats."  We have five teachers in kindergarten this year so it worked out perfectly for us to each be a vowel.  Our reading specialist, Kathy, was so kind to play the role of "sometimes y."  We had a surprise performance for our kindergarten friends on the day of our "Fall Party."  Check us out on U Tube! :)

Another neat idea I found on Pinterest was for each student to decorate a pumpkin like their favorite book character.  The students had to bring them in on Halloween day for a special "pumpkin parade."  The entire building loved taking a short break to enjoy the creativitiy of our students and parents.  This will definitely be a Halloween tradition from here on out at Chatham Elementary.

Each student got to share their pumpkin and tell us a little bit about their story.
